Es
rojizo en la zona dorsal y un rojo nítido en la región ventral.
El cuerpo es fornido.
Se dispersa a lo largo del Cáucaso, sur de Dagestan, sur de Rusia;
Azerbaiján, Armenia, norte de Irán, Turquía, Georgia,
Turkmenistán.
Nota:
Nombre dado en honor a Karl Patterson Schmidt (1890-1957), herpetólogo
Americano.
